When I saw the note, I read it then stuffed it in my jacket pocket. Then I put on my usual combat boots, and ran outside. Just like the note said, Zero was outside waiting for me. As I went over to grab my skateboard, Zero yelled out to me, " Hey, Griff." He always called me Griff, it was my nickname. But I just usually called him Zero, or bro.
I grabbed my skateboard, then ran over to him and gave him a big hug. He told me "happy birthday," and handed me a small green circle box. Inside it was a silver bangle, with a blue stone in the middle. I told him it was lovely and that I loved it, then I put it on, and we rode off to school. That's when it all started going down hill.
